Client Case Study - Sessions Peterborough

Project: Minor Retail Refresh : Sessions Peterborough
Location: Peterborough, ON

Executive Summary: As retail environments evolve, stores need to evolve with them. Sessions Cannabis engaged Orella Group to complete a targeted refresh of its Peterborough location, updating finishes, branding elements, and the store layout while keeping day-to-day operations uninterrupted.

The work was completed overnight, allowing the store to remain fully operational during regular business hours while receiving a refreshed look and feel.

Adapting the Store
to Current Requirements

Changes to cannabis retail regulations meant the existing front partition, originally installed to restrict sightline into the store, was no longer required.  Orella removed and disposed of the partition, opening up the front of the store and allowing the space to better reflect the way the location operates today.

Refreshing a High-Traffic Retail Environment

The existing flooring and finishes had experienced the war expected in a busy retail environment.  New vinyl flooring was installed throughout both the front and back of house, along with new baseboards.  Walls and ceilings in the customer-facing area were repainted, giving the store a cleaner, refreshed appearance without the cost or disruption of a cull renovation.

Bringing The Brand
Forward

As part of the refresh, updated posters and neon signage were installed throughout the store.  Combined with the new finishes and more open layout, these updates helped bring the physical location in line with Sessions’ current brand presentation.

Renovating Without Interrupting Operations

A key requirement was keeping the store open throughout the project.  Orella completed the work overnight, coordinating demolition, flooring, painting, finishing, and brand updates around operating hours.  Each morning, the space was returned ready for staff and customers, allowing Sessions toimprove the store without sacrificing regular business hours.
